Learn MoreWith Acuity Link, Coastal Medical ambulance crews are now connected to the health care institutions they serve, allowing them to respond quickly to incoming transport requests and receive clinical details and other necessary information. Hospitals using Acuity Link can request or schedule transportation with Coastal Medical directly from a web browser and monitor active transports in real time to give care facilities and family members peace of mind.
“We are constantly looking for new ways to elevate our services, and we feel strongly that the adoption of this new technology will help us better serve our network of health care institutions and patients,” said Nicole Miranda, director of communications at Coastal Medical Transportation Services. “It has been common practice within the industry for non-emergency medical transportation to be booked through a series of phone calls, which can be time-consuming and introduces the challenge of human error. We are proud to be one of the first transportation companies in the industry to take steps to address this issue.”
Acuity Link’s analytics and reporting functions also provide valuable insight to help inform Coastal Medical’s planning, enhance its fleet utilization and reduce vehicle run times.
“We’re already seeing an increased efficiency in our daily operations because of the enhanced reporting and analytics,” said Miranda. “Most importantly, we’re seeing improvements in patient experience and a reduction in the time to receive a transport request by nearly 75 percent.”
Coastal Medical Transportation Services is headquartered in Yarmouth, Mass., and provides non-emergency transport services throughout New England as well as New York and New Jersey.
