PROVIDENCE – A luxury remodel of a Colonial in the College Hill neighborhood has sold for $1.2 million, according to Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty, which represented the sellers.

The buyers were represented by Residential Properties Ltd.

The house at 368 Benefit St. was built in 1790. It was built for William Ashton Jr., and historical photos show it was divided into two units by the 1940s. In August 2012, the former owner purchased the property for $520,000, according to Providence real estate records.
