Community Provider Network to host disability event

WARWICK – The Community Provider Network of Rhode Island is hosting a conference intended to change minds about the relationship between disability and intelligence.

Centered around the documentary “Wretches & Jabberers,” the one-day conference will be held at the Crowne Plaza Providence-Warwick at 9:30 a.m. on March 12th.

As they grew up, the stars of the documentary, Tracy and Larry, were labeled “retarded” and kept out of normal schooling. When they learned to type, however, their communication with the rest of the world ramped up and their lives changed dramatically.
