Conn. pizzeria to open at Mohegan

UNCASVILLE, Conn. – Mohegan Sun last week announced that a new branch of New Haven’s Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana will be the first tenant at the Casino of the Earth development that’s part of the Project Horizon expansion.
The 3,800-square-foot restaurant, currently being designed, will have seating for more than 100 patrons. When it opens its doors during the summer of 2010, it will be the pizzeria’s fourth branch, joining stores in New Haven, Fairfield and Manchester, Conn.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with one of the best names in the industry,” said Francis Rosselli, one of Frank Pepe’s grandchildren.
Another grandchild, Gary Bimonte, said Frank Pepe opened the first store during 1925. “My grandfather would be extremely proud of this historic moment,” he added.
The store will be located in the eastern half of the Earth Food Court.
