Cox Communications donated $1.1 million in the form of Cox Charities grants and in-kind support to selected area nonprofit organizations, including the YMCA of Greater Providence.
Grants to Rhode Island organizations were awarded at a ceremony at the Radisson Airport Hotel, where Lt. Gov. Elizabeth Roberts served as keynote speaker of the event. Among the organizations receiving grants were: Boys and Girls Clubs of Warwick, City Year Rhode Island, Connecting for Children and Families, Goff Community School, Newport Community School and South Kingstown CARES.
In partnership with the United Way of Rhode Island, Cox Charities New England awards grants to area nonprofit organizations that focus on youth and education. Since the program’s inception in 2001, Cox Communications has provided more than $2.4 million in Cox Charities grants and in-kind support to local nonprofits that support children and education.
