DaLomba named KLR tax principal, office manager

Laura Hurteau DaLomba has been named tax principal at Kahn, Litwin, Renza & Co. and tapped to manage the firm’s Newport County offices. She previously served as a senior tax manager with Casten, Victor & Company. DaLomba has been providing tax-advisory services to closely held and medium-sized businesses in the Newport market for more than 10 years. She has a B.A. from the University of South Florida and an M.A. in taxation from Bryant University.

PBN: What are you looking forward to in your new position?
DaLOMBA: I look forward to growing our practice in Newport County. When I first started working on Aquidneck Island 11 years ago, I quickly became attached to the island community and culture. I determined early on that Newport County was where I wanted to practice my profession. When Casten Victor merged into Kahn, Litwin, Renza & Co. (KLR) in 2005, I was very happy to hear that KLR was committed to maintaining a strong presence here on the island. The merger of the two firms strengthened our hospitality niche by combining dedicated professionals in both our Providence office and Newport office.

PBN: What kinds of new responsibilities will you undertake?
DaLOMBA: As part of managing the Newport office, I have taken on a greater role in ensuring excellent client service and in developing the KLR staff. I will continue to mentor the younger staff to help develop their professional lives and to encourage their involvement in the community. I will also be working with senior management to implement the firm’s mission and vision for the future. I will continue to work on client development, particularly in the Newport County market, by strengthening relationships with other professionals and volunteering to serve on nonprofit boards, where I can make a difference.

PBN: Kahn, Litwin, Renza & Co. is a 30-year-old firm. What kinds of change do you envision?
DaLOMBA: I see continued growth for the firm. KLR has made a strategic decision to not only grow organically but also through strategic acquisitions. The firm will shortly announce our entry into the Boston market. This is very exciting for the next generation of leaders in our firm. The firm has a vision and we are participating in its implementation. •
