SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Foreclosures in the Providence region rose year over year in December, with 1.6 percent of all outstanding mortgages – 3,082 in all – in the Providence-New Bedford-Fall River area in some state of foreclosure, according to First American CoreLogic, a California-based property-data collector.
In the same 2007 month, 1.3 percent of the region’s homes were in foreclosure.
Nationally, 1.7 percent of homes are in some stage of foreclosure, according to CoreLogic.
Mortgage delinquency rose year over year in December, with 5.40 percent of all mortgages in the Providence-New Bedford-Fall River region 90 days or more delinquent. In December 2007, 3.90 percent had been delinquent for at least 90 days.
