Demeter named major gifts officer for Women & Infants Hospital

PROVIDENCE – Jennifer Demeter will serve as Women & Infants Hospital’s major gifts officer, Care New England Health System recently announced.

The role was previously held by Sara McMullen who is now with the American Cancer Society, according to a Care New England spokesperson.

“I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to join this dedicated team and serve our region’s premier leading specialty hospital for women and newborns,” Demeter said. “I look forward to collaborating with passionate colleagues and advancing philanthropic efforts and opportunities for Women & Infants Hospital that will make a lasting impact on the health and well-being of our community.”

Demeter previously served as director of development for academic health initiatives at the University of Rhode Island Foundation & Alumni Engagement. In that role, she integrated academic deans into the fundraising landscape and identified top donors that helped the university’s mission, as well as managed fundraising initiatives like parent and family council and URI’s Day of Giving.

Before her position at URI, Demeter contributed to the New England Science & Sailing Foundation and Johnson & Wales University.

Demeter was recognized as one of Providence Business News’ 40 Under Forty honorees in 2023.
