DOH study: R.I. nursing home satisfaction high

PROVIDENCE – Ninety-one percent of nursing home residents and their families rate their satisfaction with Rhode Island’s nursing homes as either “good” or “excellent,” according to a survey released by the R.I. Department of Health last week.
The department said that the results place the state ahead of national figures, which rank satisfaction at 87 percent for residents and 85 percent for their families.
“These comparative data show how well Rhode Island nursing homes are doing in making improvements that focus on quality of life and the individual choices of residents,” said Health Director David R. Gifford.
