Early registration open for assistive tech conference this fall

WARWICK – The Assistive Technology Conference of New England has early-bird registration underway, reports TechACCESS of Rhode Island, host of the November event. The conference – billed as the only one of its kind in Rhode Island – takes place Nov. 30, with pre-conference workshops Nov. 29.

Pre-conference workshops the day before run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., according to the TechACCESS conference event website. For example, a session on reading and writing for individuals with complex communication needs. Workshop time scheduling is still in progress. Beginner and intermediate levels are offered, according to TechACCESS.

The all-day conference, which includes an expo and vendor exhibits, is dedicated to technology, people with disabilities, families and professionals. Both the workshops and conference will be held at the Crowne Plaza Providence-Warwick at 801 Greenwich Ave. in Warwick.

Early-bird pricing is in effect through Sept. 30, says TechACCESS, with the pre-conference day $165, conference only $165 and both days $295. Group and other discount prices are available, as are a limited number of scholarships.
