Honoring leaders THE RHODE ISLAND Black Business Association will hold its annual Awards Gala. The gala, the association’s largest fundraising event, will return to being an in-person event after two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Chamber celebration THE ONE SOUTHCOAST Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual meeting, as well as its Apex and Brayton Awards event. Understand financials THE SOUTH EASTERN Economic Development Corp., in cooperation with the U.S. Small Business Administration, Massachusetts Small Business Development Center and SCORE, will offer a virtual workshop in which participants will learn how to read a balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement, and keep on top of their business finances. The workshop will also cover how a small-business owner can anticipate financial needs to operate the business more efficiently through a deeper understanding of their financial picture.
