PROVIDENCE – Several prospective buyers have expressed interest in the Elmwood Diner, according to the property’s listing agent, but most suitors want to remove it from its longtime site and take it out of Rhode Island.
The diner is on the National Register of Historic Places, and was built in 1947.

The owners want to sell the diner and surrounding lot as a unit, so the property at 777 Elmwood Ave. remains for sale, according to agent Chris Efstathiou, of the Corbett Restaurant Group.
The list price, for the 10-foot-by-40-foot vintage diner and surrounding property, is $295,000.
“They want to sell it. They will not sell the diner without the property,” said Efstathiou.
