Emergency medical responders to hold expo

WARWICK – The fourth annual Rhode Island Metro EMS Expo for emergency responders is scheduled for April 26 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Providence Warwick.
The day-long event, hosted by the Rhode Island Metro EMS Association, will feature a number of lectures and discussions, addressing topics such as clinical boundaries, pre-hospital stroke care, post traumatic stress disorder and proper technology utilization.
Abigail Williams, the principal of Abigail Williams & Associates in Worcester, will speak about issues related to medical malpractice, liability and negligence, in a presentation called “Lessons Learned and Other Oxymorons for Emergency Responders.”
Chris Morse, a readjustment counseling therapist at the Providence Veterans Center who was deployed as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004, will talk about post traumatic stress disorder in war veterans.
A.J. Herightman, editor in chief of the Journal of Emergency Medical Services in San Diego, will present a lecture called “Challenging Your Clinical Boundaries.”
