THE ECONOMIC PROGRESS Institute will host its 10th annual policy and budget conference, dubbed “Budget Rhode Map: Paving the Way to Good Jobs,” on April 26 at the Omni Providence Hotel.
THE ECONOMIC PROGRESS INSTITUTE co-authored a study released this week that found that wealthy Rhode Islanders pay a lower share of their income in state and local taxes than middle-income and low-income earners.

PROVIDENCE – The Economic Progress Institute will host its 10th annual policy and budget conference on April 26 in Providence.

Andy Van Kleunen, CEO and founder of National Skills Coalition, will speak at the progressive-leaning think tank’s annual conference dubbed “Budget Rhode Map: Paving the Way to Good Jobs.”

“[Kleunen], one of the nation’s leading experts on workforce and education policy issues, will review Rhode Island’s workforce-development strategies, will share best practices from around the country and discuss federal workforce-development policy,” according to the EPI.

The Providence nonprofit hosts the conference each year after the state budget is introduced. The event will begin at 8 a.m. at the Omni Providence Hotel.
