Equity firm acquires CBE Technologies

PROVIDENCE – CBE Technologies has been acquired by Boulder, Colo.-based Gores Equity LLC, the companies said today. Financial details were not disclosed.
“Customers can continue to rely on CBE Technologies’ 20-year-plus track record when they want to drive down IT costs while increasing operational efficiencies,” said George Mellor, president of the Providence-based IT and telephony services provider.
Since its founding in 1984, CBE has grown to more than 100 IT professionals with 1,200 certifications in categories including information security and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). The company focuses on providing managed IT services to state and municipal governments, educational and health care institutions and small to mid-sized businesses.
“With CBE Technologies, Gores aims to expand its footprint in the market for IT infrastructure services and remote managed services,” Mike Hirano, executive vice president of Gores Equity, said in a statement.
