PORTSMOUTH – Jennifer W. Fairbank has been named the next CEO of Visiting Nurse Home & Hospice, effective Dec. 10, the company’s board of directors announced Monday.
Fairbank will replace Candace Sharkey, who will stay on for a transitional two weeks following Fairbank’s start as CEO. Sharkey has served as the company’s CEO since October 2014.

Fairbank is currently the executive director of South County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in North Kingstown. The board lauded Fairbank’s “aggressive oversight of program effectiveness, quality outcomes, expense control, budget management and regulatory compliance.”

The board also noted that Fairbank has served on numerous boards and committees both locally and nationally related to statutory and legislative complexities in the long-term care industry, has overseen two corporate acquisitions in previous roles and is a University of Rhode Island graduate.
