First phase of Shops at Quonset is halfway done

NORTH KINGSTOWN – The first phase of construction at The Shops at Quonset Point, a retail center being built at the head of Quonset Business Park, is about to reach the build-out midpoint, construction manager Integrated Builders announced Monday.
The $80 million development’s first phase totals about 200,000 square feet, which comprises 160,000 square feet of retail space and 40,000 square feet of office space. It’s a New Boston Fund Inc. development project.
Integrated Builders has almost completed the 75,000-square-foot Outside Air Center and the shell for a 25,000-square-foot Dave’s Marketplace grocery store.
“The project started in spring this year and is scheduled to be completed in spring 2009,” Integrated Builders President Jay Dacey said in a statement. “We’re very pleased to be working on this exciting project that is being developed by one of the country’s top real estate investment and development firms. We’re looking forward to completing this project on time.”
The development, when completed, will have a hotel, visitor’s center, drug store, coffee shop, restaurants, a bank and other retail stores.
