The R.I. Department of Health last week presented awards to 11 health care providers that participated in the state’s first Flu Vaccination Day in November and hosted flu vaccination clinics during nontraditional times that were more convenient for patients.
The providers – private physician practices, community health centers, mass immunizers and pharmacies – also gave vaccines at no charge to anyone who was uninsured.
All were presented with a Community Partnership Award, which recognizes individuals or groups in Rhode Island whose contributions are exceptional and support the mission of the Department of Health.
The award recipients are: CCAP – Family Health Services, Cranston; CCAP Wilcox Health Services; Coastal Medical, Park; Hillside Avenue Family and Community Medicine; JB Pharmacy; Lincoln Pediatric Associates; the Scituate Health Alliance; the VNA of Care New England; the VNS of Newport and Bristol Counties; the VNS of Greater Rhode Island; and The Wellness Co.
