Former Warwick estate planner and long-term health care planning lawyer charged with theft of over $1.2M

WARWICK – Vincent J. Mitchell, age 57, of Coventry and a former Warwick lawyer, has been arrested by the R.I. State Police’s Financial Crimes Unit Monday on a Affidavit/Arrest Warrant charging him with 10 counts of embezzlement and fraudulent conversion of over $100, after self-reporting that he had misused more than $1.2 million of his clients’ money for personal use.

Mitchell had been disbarred last summer. His practice had centered around estate planning and long-term health care planning.
