‘Four Legs to Stand On’ performance tells stories of addiction

PROVIDENCE – A performance featuring stories of people with addiction will take place next month in the city.

Hosted by the Rhode Island Action Coalition as part of its “Recovery RI, Our Journey” campaign, “Four Legs to Stand On” will be held at the Teatro ECAS Theater. The award-winning production, developed by Creating Outreach About Addiction Support Together, highlights stories about addiction.

The performance will be followed by a talk-back session on ways attendees can support addiction and mental health recovery among family, friends and community.

The event runs from 6:30-8 p.m. and is free and open to the public. To register, visit recoveryri.org/upcoming-events.

The performance is funded by the Rhode Island Foundation, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Rhode Island Medical Society, the American Nurses Association Rhode Island and CVS MinuteClinic.

The Rhode Island Action Coalition, a nursing group that pushes members to “improve the social determinant of health,” describes its “Recovery, Our Journey” project as a nursing leadership campaign that aims to change public attitudes about addiction and mental health recovery.
