PROVIDENCE – The Roger Williams Park Zoo will offer free admission on Friday, Nov. 24 according to a statement by the nonprofit organization Thursday.

“The purpose of opening the Zoo on Black Friday is to encourage everyone to get outside, enjoy the fresh air, and take time with family and friends to experience everything the Zoo has to offer,” said Jeremy Goodman, executive director of Roger Williams Park Zoo, in a statement.

The zoo requests visitors donate non-perishable food items to benefit the Rhode Island Community Food Bank in honor of the holiday season and will have receptacles placed at the zoo gates to collect these items.

Zoo inhabitants including red pandas, snow leopards, red wolves and moon bears enjoy the cooler temperatures according to the zoo and are visible on the facility’s Marco Polo trail.
