WARWICK – The R.I. Airport Corp. announced Tuesday that Frontier Airlines has added another seasonal route to Myrtle Beach, S.C., from T.F. Green Airport.

The route will begin operation on May 20 and will continue through August. It will run three times per week.

“We could not be happier that our partnership with Frontier Airlines continues to expand along with their footprint at T.F. Green Airport,” said Iftikhar Ahmad, president and CEO of the R.I. Airport Corp., in a statement. “Currently, Frontier Airlines offers more nonstop service than any other airline operating out of T.F. Green and the addition of this new route to Myrtle Beach, S.C., is a first for the airport.”

Frontier now offers 10 routes from T.F. Green. However, only two routes are year-round flights, Orlando, Fla., and Tampa, Fla. The other eight cities that are or will be served by Frontier are: Atlanta; Austin, Texas; Charlotte, N.C.; Denver; Ft. Myers, Fla.; Miami; Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and Raleigh-Durham, N.C.

Frontier is one of a few discount airlines added to operations at T.F. Green in 2017. The three airlines, Frontier, Allegiant and Norwegian Air, accounted for 6.6 percent of all traffic for the year.

Frontier accounted for 146,065 passengers processed at the airport in 2017.
