PROVIDENCE – Gilbane Building Co. announced this week plans to use Textura Corp.’s Construction Payment Management on all its projects nationwide.
The Providence-based construction company said the system automates subcontractor invoicing, collects subcontractor lien waivers, tracks compliance requirements and disburses payments electronically to subcontractors. A spokeswoman said the system automates some functions previously conducted on paper and replaces a software suite made by Oracle.
Gilbane said the new software would improve relationships with subcontractors while improving the company’s profitability.
“Textura’s suite of products addresses many long-standing technology needs in the construction industry,” Gilbane’s Chairman and CEO Thomas F. Gilbane Jr. said in a news release. “Specifically, Textura–CPM is the only industry solution that fully automates the billing and payment process. Implementing Textura accelerates our strategy of applying leading edge technologies to strengthen our bottom line.”
Gilbane had been using the system on a trial basis before deciding to roll it out nationwide.
“Gilbane is a world-class construction organization and a name that is held in the highest esteem in the industry,” said Pat Allin, chairman and CEO of Illinois-based Textura. “Their decision to fully implement Textura–CPM is a testament to the value and return on investment that our service provides.”
