PROVIDENCE – The Girl Scouts of Rhode Island will vacate its headquarters in Providence and move to Warwick.
Spokeswoman Nicole Kelly said the organization planned to put its current offices at 125 Charles St. on the market after completing an appraisal. Some time next year the organization will shift its offices to the former Ski Mart at 500 Greenwich Ave. in Warwick.
Kelly said the new offices – at 15,000 square feet – offers more space than its present 8,500 square-foot home the organization calls the Canal House.
The new offices will include more conference rooms and function space and put all the staff on the same floor. In addition, the building sits directly off Interstate 95.
“We just couldn’t pass up that opportunity to be so visible,” Kelly said.
The organization considered leasing or buying locations in Providence before buying the former Ski Mart for $1.4 million.
