SWEET TREATS: The coronavirus did not deter the Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England, based in Warwick, from delivering cookies to patients and staff at Kent County Memorial Hospital on March 20. Pictured from left are: Rebecca Reynolds, product program specialist for GSSNE; Claudia Maine, associate chief nurse for Kent Hospital; Shannon Sullivan, vice president of operations at both Kent Hospital and Care New England Health System; Taylor Gomes, fund development and product program specialist for GSSNE; and Ginger Lallo, senior director of advancement for GSSNE. Of the Girl Scouts’ efforts, Reynolds said: “I am so proud to work for the Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England. Being a part of a positive experience [such as] donating cookies to overworked hospital employees – the brave souls who come in every day to face this epidemic head on – makes me feel like I’m contributing in some small way, even if it’s just to raise spirits and make people smile. I hope our girls are able to go back out and raise more for their troops by selling, but in the meantime we’re all about giving back to the community, so it’s a natural fit.”
