Global gaming company IGT launches PlayBingo in Norway

PROVIDENCE – International Game Technology PLC announced that Norway’s state lottery operator has launched IGT’s new digital PlayBingo platform.

The platform was awarded to IGT in a competitive procurement process, replacing Norsk Tipping’s previous digital bingo platform provided by IGT since 2014, according to a news release.

The new solution includes IGT PlayCasino slot titles and mini-games that can be played between or during rounds. According to IGT, chat features let players socialize with one another as well.

PlayBingo also offers variants such as Picture Bingo and Roulette Bingo, which customers can configure and customize. Built on multichannel HTML5 for desktop, tablet or mobile, PlayBingo provides a variety of IGT digital casino slot games within a single game window for players’ convenience.

“Players are responsibly enjoying a new and more entertaining Bingo experience … keeping proceeds in Norway to support arts, sports and cultural initiatives,” said Hans Erland Ringsvold, head of gaming operations, Norsk Tipping.

“Norsk Tipping has recognized the benefits of PlayBingo not only as a baseline product with crossover appeal, but as a vertical that supports responsible gaming through its social aspect and low average-player spend,” said Declan Harkin, IGT senior vice president and chief operating officer, International.

IGT, formerly GTECH, has served Norsk Tipping since 2012. IGT has more than 12,000 employees across the globe, with offices in Providence.
