GMAC CFO joins Providence Equity

PROVIDENCE – Providence Equity Partners has hired GMAC Inc. Chief Financial Officer Robert Hall to take over the same position at the Providence-based private equity firm.
Hull, 46, will start as CFO at ProvEquity in early April, succeeding Raymond Mathieu, who has been named a managing director focused on special projects.
Hull has been executive vice president and CFO at GMAC since 2007. He also was a member of GMAC’s executive committee and served briefly on GMAC’s board of directors.
“Rob brings an exceptional track record of serving as CFO at large and complex financial institutions, as well as public and private companies in a variety of industries,” Jonathan Nelson, ProvEquity CEO, said in a statement. “His experience and expertise will be invaluable as we continue to grow Providence [Equity] in the years ahead. Ray has helped lead Providence and played an important role in supporting the investment activities through more than two decades of growth. Previously, Hull held a series of finance positions at Bank of America from 2001 to 2007, including chief financial officer of the company’s Global Wealth and Investment Management business.
Before Bank of America, Hull held the CFO positions at Investorforce Holdings Inc., Marvel Enterprises Inc. and Wise Foods Holdings Inc.
Hull earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
