PROVIDENCE – Goldman Sachs Group Inc. this week put Textron Inc. back on its list of “conviction buys,” two months after removing the local conglomerate’s stock from the list.
Goldman said the company’s earnings could potentially beat analysts’ estimates through 2012 thanks to a recovery in demand for airplanes from its Cessna division, Bloomberg News reported.

Textron was previously listed on Goldman’s “conviction buy” list from last September until March.
Textron fell 2.8 percent, or 61 cents, to $20.89 a share at 10:21 a.m. Wednesday in New York Stock Exchange trading. The stock had risen 85 percent in the past year at Tuesday’s closing price of $21.50, though it is down from a high of $24.55 reached on April 26.
