PROVIDENCE – Secretary of State Nellie M. Gorbea received the 2018 New American Hero Award for her work in improving access to the ballot box, her office announced Dec. 7. Each year New American Leaders honors elected officials “who have gone above and beyond in their contributions to building a more welcoming and inclusive nation,”
