ASHAWAY – GreenBytes Inc., a deduplication data storage provider, said its customer base has significantly grown during the first two quarters of 2011 when compared to the same period last year.
GreenBytes, founded in 2007, said its customer base increased by more than 300 percent, to more than 50 clients globally.

It also said its installations have increased more than 400 percent during the same period to just under 100; its users range from institutions such as Brown University and the University of Maryland to Krüll Motor Co.
The company attributed the market growth to its GB-X Series storage appliances which are used for data protection, primary storage and virtualized environments.
“GreenBytes’ unique Hybrid Storage Architecture, combined with inline deduplication, offers the required performance that can provide up to a 50x reduction in the cost for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure storage,” said Jur Faber, CEO of UK-based Consolidate-IT.
“Additionally, GreenBytes’ integration with Symantec OST has enabled our customers in Europe to realize the benefit of inline deduplication as an integral component of their backup solution. Our partners and customers are also very happy with the tunable I/O performance, ease of use and substantial savings on replication bandwidth,” Faber said.
