Hasbro Inc. made a surprise announcement of a $1 million gift to the Hasbro Children’s Hospital during the annual benefit gala for the hospital. The contribution will support the implementation of “The Get Well Network,” an interactive technology program that allows patients and families to access a variety of educational, entertainment, hospital service and Internet resources during their stay at the hospital.
“Improving the lives of children and their families is a shared goal between Hasbro Inc. and Hasbro Children’s Hospital,” said Brian Goldner, CEO of Hasbro. “By bringing the Get Well Network to the hospital, we hope to provide young patients with a readily available resource to keep them better connected, happy and more comfortable during what can be a very scary time for a child.”
The “In it for Life” themed gala hosted 700 attendees and raised $900,000 to support several of the hospital’s critical programs. The theme was based on Hasbro’s popular The Game of Life board game. •
