PROVIDENCE – Hotel Providence has been awarded the title of “Best Hotel, City other than Boston,” by Boston Magazine’s New England Travel and Life.
It is the second time the 80-room boutique hotel has received the Best of New England award. The magazine cited the hotel’s quality and excellence; its worldly and unique décor; its award-winning restaurant, L’Epicureo; and its “local flavor,” including the artwork from the Rhode Island School of Design that adorns each guestroom.
“To receive this award by Boston Magazine’s New England Travel and Life is an honor,” said Christine Nevers, the hotel’s general manager, adding: “As with our other awards, this is a reflection of our hard-working team of employees, who are continuously committed to excellence.”
Opened in early 2005, Hotel Providence has been designated a Four Diamond establishment by AAA since its first year and was the first hotel in Providence to be honored with membership in the Small Luxury Hotels of the World. It also was named Best of the East by Meetings Magazine, was the city’s top-rated hotel in this year’s Zagat guide, was No. 1 on TripAdvisor for several consecutive months and last year was ranked by Providence Business News among the state’s Best Places to Work.
