NEW BEDFORD – Southcoast Health patients using the MyChart app to view test results and appointments will also now be able to view imaging results previously requiring a formal request.

Currently, many test results are automatically released and accessible to Southcoast Health patients through MyChart, but there are some lab or imaging results requiring release by a provider. For these specific results, patients were required to call their physician or send a message to request them.

Now, imaging results will automatically be available to patients through the service within two weeks of being taken.

“Sharing complete results in a timely manner is not only a key patient-safety measure ensuring that needed treatment and follow-up care is received by our patients, but it also serves as an additional opportunity to provide exceptional service to our patients,” said Dr. Richard Miller, physician-in-chief of surgery.
