PAWTUCKET – Collette recently concluded its first Impact Tour, a new model of guided international sightseeing trip which includes charity work in local neighborhoods, according to a release Friday from the global tour operator.
“Our guests will experience the best of both worlds on these tours by seeing the beauty in the destination while engaging in volunteer work to give back,” said John Sutherland, manager of corporate responsibility, in a statement.

The inaugural trip to South Africa saw 20 guests volunteer with local organizations aimed at improving the lives of South African residents over 13 days. The volunteer experiences included partnering with Knysna Education Trust out of Knysna, distribute water transportation technology known as hippo rollers and visit the Western Cape region of Stellenbosch to decorate local classrooms and prepare school lunches through educational charity Pebbles Project.
