CHARLESTOWN – Get your zzzs with an iPhone app. That’s the idea behind Power ZZZ, launched by three companies with Rhode Island connections on Oct. 20.

It’s a sleep timer with a twist: it has a built-in sensor to recognize when you have fallen asleep and then sets off an alarm of your choice when you have completed your power nap. Users can purchase the application for iPhone, iTouch or iPads for $0.99 at the Apple iTunes store.

The app has 18 music options, including some for those who want to stick to their Rhode Island roots: Bristol Blues, Moonstone Drift and Newport Jazz.

Tim Gilchrist, president of Charlestown-based Swamper Products, worked with Bay Computer Associates of Cranston and Dohne Consulting Group of Randoph, N.J., owned by Westerly native Patricia Dohne, on the application.
