Kent offers parents ‘Dinner for Two’

As a special treat for new parents, Kent Hospital is now offering moms and dads a special “Dinner for Two” after their baby is born, courtesy of the hospital’s auxiliary.
The program, which started in August, is now providing about 24 dinners per week. The meal, designed by hospital chef Rafael Peguero, consists of soup of the day or fresh fruit salad, a Caesar or caprese salad, and steak, grilled salmon or stuffed chicken, plus dessert.
Dinners are served promptly at 6 p.m. by dietary staff clad in crisp blue-striped aprons and are set on white tablecloth-covered carts with candles, flowers and hand-cut garnishes – right at the mother’s bed.
“Kent Hospital is so pleased to be able to congratulate our new parents in this special way,” said President and CEO Sandra Coletta. “The Dinner for Two is a great way to recognize mom and dad and offer them a small celebration on the birth of their child. I would like to also thank the Kent Hospital Auxiliary for generously providing the financial support that makes this possible.”
