Kevin Ricci would no doubt be proud to be called a technology geek, given his long and successful career in information technology, one that includes his current position as MIS director for Providence’s Lefkowitz, Garfinkel, Champi & DeRienzo P.C.
In fact, he’d probably laugh and shoot back a comment that quickly made you wish you never brought it up in the first place. While Ricci is a tech specialist, he’s also one funny guy.
In 2004, he was named Rhode Island’s funniest comedian and continues to enjoy standup comedy in his spare time.
But information technology long has been Ricci’s career path since graduating from what was then Bryant College in 1994 with a B.S. in business administration, with a concentration in computer information systems.
After college, he went to work for The NLS Group, where he served as director of management information systems for the regional telecommunications firm. His work was so valued that he was awarded a minority ownership stake in the company.
Ricci joined LGC&D in 2002 as the firm’s director of management information systems. He manages a team that provides network, hardware and application support and training.
In 2006, he was a founding member of LGC&D Solutions, the firm’s information technology solutions group. As part of the group, Ricci offers an array of technology-consulting services for the firm’s clients. The work includes computer-control reviews for clients ranging from small health care facilities to multimillion dollar, publicly traded companies.
Ricci has developed proprietary data extraction and analytic tools that have improved the firm’s technology-related audit procedures and workflows.
Outside of work, the North Providence resident is active in professional and charitable groups, as well as serving on the board of directors for The Autism Project. •
