Kopin receives $16M order from Army

TAUNTON – Display systems manufacturer Kopin Corp. announced Wednesday it has received a $16 million follow-on order from the U.S. Army for its 640M display modules.

The high-performance 640M displays will be used in the Army’s Thermal Weapon Sight, or TWS, program. Kopin will start production of the displays for the follow-on order starting in September, and will fulfill it over a 15-month period.

“This follow-on order is a result of our market-leading position for this critical component to the U.S. military,” said John C.C. Fan, Kopin’s president and CEO. “This order, combined with the $27 million TWS eyepiece order from another key customer we announced in April, further strengthens our military business.”
