KVH is looking to provide better local support for its mini-VSAT broadband service, its TracPhone satellite communications systems and its Trac Vision satellite TV systems through the subsidiary, KVH South America Comunicacão por Satelite Ltda.

The mini-VSAT service has been fully approved by Anatel, the Brazilian regulatory agency, and can be used anywhere in Brazil and its surrounding waters. The TracPhone V7 can also be sold and installed throughout Brazil, the company said noting the country’s stringent licensing requirements for satellite communications services.
“Our Brazilian subsidiary has dramatically expanded our ability to support the offshore oil and gas industry, including rigs, supply ships, and other vessels that operate in this critical area of the Americas,” explains Patricio Baez, KVH’s vice president for commercial sales, Americas.
KVH INDUSTRIES products will continue to expand in markets not only in Brazil but all over the world.
