Lamoureux to participate in webinar on municipal employees’ social media use

JOHNSTON – Brian J. Lamoureux, a partner at law firm Pannone Lopes Devereaux & O’Gara, will be a featured panelist later this month on a webinar concerning the enforcement of social media use by public employees.

The live webinar, “Social Media Use by Municipalities: Developing and Enforcing Policies for Public Employees and Officials,” is Wednesday, Feb. 14, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., hosted by Strafford Publications.

Lamoureux, a business litigator, employment attorney and expert on social and digital media law, will explore the unique issues for municipalities when developing and enforcing social media policies. He will also review the latest legal developments, explore future trends and highlight potential pitfalls.

“No organization is immune from the perils and consequences of social media use in the workplace,” said Lamoureux. “Government employees and officials have added challenges and it is imperative for municipal leaders to stay up to date on trends in the social and digital media space and by having employee policies and procedures in place that comply with constitutional limitations and other laws.”
