Lifespan breast centers accredited for 3 years

PROVIDENCE – The Comprehensive Cancer Centers at Rhode Island Hospital and The Miriam Hospital, both members of the Lifespan health system, have each received a three-year accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers.
To be accredited, a facility must undergo a rigorous evaluation that looks at center leadership, clinical management research, community outreach, professional education and quality improvement, including clinical trials and new treatment options.
“The NAPBC accreditation recognizes our efforts to provide the best possible care of our breast cancer patients,” said Dr. Theresa Graves, breast center physician liaison at Rhode Island Hospital, in a news release. “The incidence of breast cancer continues to rise, and as we meet this demand, we continue to treat the whole patient through a multidisciplinary approach that ensures our patients are receiving the highest quality care from compassionate clinicians and staff.” &#8226
