Though financial technology company Light Frame Ltd. launched less than a year ago, CEO Schuyler Weiss is no stranger to the banking software sphere – his name, however, may currently draw more recognition in Switzerland’s fintech sector.
Light Frame, which launched last January in Rhode Island, follows Weiss’ tenure leading the Swiss digital private bank Alpian, which he founded in 2022.
Headquartered at CIC Providence, Light Frame also maintains an office in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Weiss left Alpian after observing that existing technology hasn’t caught up to the modern needs of an age-old industry, he noted.
“While I created [Alpian], I was able to see what works and what doesn’t work,” Weiss said, and he identified the gaps in current banking software capabilities as a major opportunity for a new venture.
It was an opportunity Weiss wanted to pursue in Rhode Island, where he grew up before eventually moving to Switzerland to complete his MBA.
Light Frame’s platform will correct a lack of synergy and high costs while improving intelligence capabilities in current fintech, Weiss said.
The venture has already attracted attention in the Ocean State’s fintech sphere, with the company announcing in May that it had closed its pre-seed funding round with $1.7 million.
