LITTLE COMPTON – An oceanside home at the tip of Warren’s Point in Little Compton sold for $2.6 million, according to Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty, which represented the sellers.

The sale of the property at 9 Kempton Place marks the second highest in Little Compton this year, according to data from the Rhode Island Statewide Multiple Listing Service.

The historic home, built in 1942, is one of the last surviving “Watch Houses” in Little Compton, built by the government during World War II as an observation blockhouse to look for submarines. The 1,773-square-foot house was architecturally designed as a Cape Cod-style summerhouse to blend into the landscape. It has four bedrooms and two bathrooms.
