Local ice cream chain slated for Quonset

NORTH KINGSTOWN – The Inside Scoop, an ice cream shop with branches in Cranston and North Kingstown, is set to open its third location in a 1,000-square-foot storefront in The Gateway at Quonset Point, developers New Boston Fund Inc. announced this week.
Inside Scoop owner John Bucci said in a statement that the decision by Dave’s Marketplace to open a grocery in the development spurred his decision.
“When I found out that Dave’s was going to be in the shops at Quonset, it just made the center a much more valuable asset to me, because of who Dave’s draws as a customer,” he said.
The 765,000-square-foot office, hotel and retail development is at the western edge of Quonset Business Park and is anchored by a Lowes Home Improvement and Kohl’s.
Inside Scoop will be located on a pedestrian walkway – the “main street,” according to the developers – and will take up a quarter of a 4,000-square-foot New England-style building. Two restaurants will likely take up the remaining space, according to New Boston.

The Inside Scoop is a Rhode Island chain that makes fresh ice cream every day at its headquarters shop in North Kingstown; it also has a shop in Cranston. To learn more, visit www.InsideScoopRI.com.
