PROVIDENCE – Cargo-handling services company Logistec Stevedoring Inc. has entered into an agreement with Waterson Terminal Services LLC, operator and manager of ProvPort, to provide marine services, Logistec announced June 6.
The agreement unites “two key marine industry leaders specializing in handling varied cargo, including bulk commodities, steel, lumber, general cargo and wind-energy components,” according to a news release.
The deal enables Logistec, based in Montreal, Canada, to expand its operations to 63 terminals in 37 ports across Canada and the U.S. and Gulf coasts, according to the release.
WTS General Manager Chris Waterson said the agreement will allow ProvPort to leverage its “strategic location” and Logistec’s “vast network to access international and domestic options for our tenants and customers.”
The joint operations will begin this month.
