“The first few years were spent traveling around the country and going to where the work was until the word started to spread locally about the kind of work we produced and, more importantly, how we treated our clients,” Luminous founder Ryan Buttie said.
Today, the team at the Providence-based marketing company offers clients an in-house creative strategy, graphic and digital design, content development, photography and video production. The agency has enjoyed a 61.1% jump in revenue from 2021 to 2023, taking in $1.4 million last year.
Following PPL Corp. acquiring The Narragansett Electric Co. from National Grid in May, Luminous partnered with the energy provider, now known as Rhode Island Energy, on all rebranding. Additionally, Luminous worked closely with the R.I. Department Health and the 988 Suicide Prevention Program last fall to develop suicide prevention campaign elements to be distributed through both traditional and digital channels.
