ATTLEBORO – The long-delayed construction of MAR Seafood’s proposed processing plant in the city’s new industrial park could begin soon, The Sun Chronicle reports.
MAR would be the first company to occupy the 160-acre park off County and Tiffany streets.
After Mar purchased a 5.6-acre parcel in the park from the Attleboro Redevelopment Authority, construction on the shellfish processing plant halted last November because of a dispute with the city over tax breaks.
The city has agreed to grant MAR an extension of its building permit for the site if it delivers steel to the property by Nov. 16, The Sun Chronicle reports.
