Mass. council approves new seaport projects

BOSTON – The Governor’s Seaport Advisory Council has voted to authorize $8.2 million from the Seaport Bond Bill to be spent over the next several years on a wide array of seaport projects.
The council last week unanimously voted to advance the following port development projects:

&#8226 $1,100,000 Fall River, Floats & Docks, Fall River State Pier
&#8226 $400,000 Gloucester, Economic Development Business Plan
&#8226 $250,000 Gloucester, Floating Docks for the City of Gloucester
&#8226 $22,000 Gloucester, Blynman Canal Seawall Reconstruction Project
&#8226 $100,000 Newburyport, Plum Island Restroom Facility
&#8226 $36,000 Newburyport, Commercial Fish Pier Dredging Design
&#8226 $5,500,000 New Bedford/Fairhaven Phase III Dredge Construction
&#8226 $75,000 New Bedford, Fire Boat Restoration
&#8226 $420,000 Salem, South River Harborwalk Construction
&#8226 $100,000 Statewide, Phase I Commercial Boat Sewage Pumpout Needs
&#8226 $110,000 Statewide, Sunken Vessels for New Bedford, Woods Hole & Provincetown &#8226
