PROVIDENCE – Providence-based children’s development nonprofit Meeting Street announced the hire of three new employees Tuesday.

The new hires are Joe Macedo, director of human resources; Bernadine Sadwin, director of development; and Katie Wood, special events coordinator.

John M. Kelly, Meeting Street president, said in a statement he is “thrilled” with the new additions, each of which has a “diverse and notable background that will make them an immediate asset.”

Macedo comes to Meeting Street with 15 years of human resources management experience in education, health care, media and financial services. Prior to joining Meeting Street, Macedo held positions at Providence Community Health Centers, Providence Equity Partners, LIN Media, Lifespan and Brown University. A Portsmouth resident, he holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island and an MBA from Bryant University.

Sadwin has 20 years of progressive-development experience in the human services as well as independent and higher education sectors. She was an intern with Meeting Street as a high school student and her child was the recipient of services through Meeting Street’s Early Intervention Programs and play groups. Previously, she served as director of annual giving for the University of Rhode Island Foundation and earned a bachelor’s degree from URI.

With experience in the education, volunteer-management and event-planning fields, Wood previously worked at the Roger Williams Park Zoo as manager of volunteer services. She holds an undergraduate degree from Stonehill College and a master’s degree in teaching from Notre Dame of Maryland University.
