Merchant receives lifetime achievement award at World Trade Day 2018

PROVIDENCE – Cheryl Merchant, president and CEO of Hope Global, was awarded the John Hazen White, Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award Wednesday at the 33rd Annual World Trade Day presented by the John H. Chafee Center for International Business at Bryant University.

Merchant, who previously served as chair of the World Trade Day Committee, was honored for her “outstanding contributions to promoting international trade and collaboration.”

A PBN Business Women Achievement Honoree in 2008, Merchant won PBN’s Leadership & Strategy category in its Manufacturing Awards in 2014. She was selected by the Bryant University Women’s Summit as the 2014 New England Businesswoman of the Year. In 2015, Merchant was named Outstanding Mentor by PBN at its Business Women Awards event.

The John H. Chafee Center for International Business also congratulated AVTECH Software Inc. for being named the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Rhode Island Small Business Exporter of the Year.
